When you book your stay at Volcano Village Estates you have a lot of great lodging options to choose from for your Big Island family vacation.
Two of our rooms offer full kitchens with cooking facilities, while others all have microwaves, fridges, coffee pots, and tea kettles. Each day we serve a freshly prepared breakfast with a hot entree and fresh fruit that is placed in your room refrigerator to enjoy with your family at any time after check-in or in the morning. Parents love this amenity as finding somewhere for breakfast can be challenging in Volcano Village. With the Volcano Village Estates as your ‘home base,’ you’re less than 10 minutes from hiking around Volcanoes National Park so if you have to run back to pick something up, or bring a toddler home for an afternoon nap it is super easy.
Akaka Falls – Sleeps 5, Full Kitchen. Large sitting room. Private deck with outdoor seating area.
Dillingham House – sleeps 6 guests in two bedrooms with a large living room.
What do our parents love about the property?
- Location, Location! We are the closest lodging to Volcanoes National Park, just a 1 mile drive to the entrance.
- A Volcano Village Explorer Pack with a keepsake lunch bag, sandwiches, snacks, drinks, and local gifts are available to keep kids entertained.
- Breakfast is prepared and placed in your room the night before, ready for the morning. No having to get dressed and go to a hotel breakfast room. Kids can eat when they want.
- Free wi-fi in all rooms.
- Rooms all have a microwave, coffee maker, tea kettle, and a mini-refrigerator – perfect for snacks and leftovers.
- Kids love the sense of being in the natural outdoors. The estate has lots of outside areas to hang out.

Family Travel to the Big Island
- Umauma Falls has a cozy sleeping nook that kids love to curl up in and read a book. Great for 2 adults and a child.
- Akaka Falls is our biggest room at 950 sq. ft. and has three separate bedrooms and sleeps 5. It has a sitting room with seating and a dining area, on the 3rd floor with views over the property. The kitchen is on the ground floor and has a huge lanai with a sitting area for kids to hang out.
- Hina sleeps three guests with a single pullout and a queen bed.
- Laka has a cool sleeping area under the window, perfect for kids to curl up in to stream a movie.
- Pele is one of our bigger rooms, (720 sq ft) where families can stretch out and enjoy a full kitchen, private hot tub, and a sofa sleeper with a high-end memory foam mattress. This room is perfect for families.
- Pele can also be combined with Poliaho to make a 2-bedroom apartment as there is a private corridor that can be unlocked to join the rooms.
- The Garden Suite is a 157 sq. ft suite that can accommodate three people, it is great for a family with one child or teen. The pullout has a memory-foam mattress.
- Junior Suite is also perfect for small families. This has a queen bedroom and a room with a twin trundle bed that can sleep two kids.
- A combination of the Garden Suite and the Junior Suite offers even more space. These two rooms can be opened up to be accessed through a private corridor giving guests around 1072 sq ft of space with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
