Frequently Asked Questions

Guests to the Volcano area often have a number of questions. We hope to answer most of them here, but if you still need more information send us an email at info@volcanovillageestates.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

You can check-in anytime after 3 pm. Our office is open from 9 am – 6 pm so if you have bags you want to drop off sooner just let us know and we will hold them in the office for you. If we can accommodate an earlier check-in we will be happy to offer that. The earliest would be 2 pm. You must call the morning of arrival to see if we can offer you an earlier check-in as it depends on guests leaving.

You pay a one-night non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. 7-days prior to arrival we will charge the credit card on file for the balance due. After 7-days there are no refunds for any reason.

You can cancel up to 7-days in advance of arrival and will only pay the one-night deposit. After 7-days the full cost of the reservations is non-refundable.

We may have minimum night stays on some holidays, weekends and special days.

Volcano Village is at 4,000 feet so it is much cooler than by the beach. Our nighttime temps drop and so we have heaters in all our rooms but no air-conditioning.

Each room has a maximum occupancy which is shown on the website. This is a fire requirement so if you have more in your party than the room holds then we ask you to reserve more than one room or upgrade to a bigger room.

Our new rates (post-Covid) reflect the addition of a breakfast of fresh fruit and a hot entree you can heat up in your room. Breakfast is provided in the mini-fridge. If you have booked at the old rate with Hale Ohia (prior to May 13th, 2021) you can add breakfast for an additional fee.

We welcome children of all ages. We do not have cribs or other beds for infants. Additional person fees of $30 will apply for additional persons in the room.

All rooms require at least one guest over the age of 21 years. Children cannot rent a room without a parent or other adult staying with them.

All units have a private bathroom away from other guests. Rooms that sleep more than 2 persons, such as Akaka Falls have one bathroom for 5 persons.
